Give a Hoot for the Holidays

-

The first time I bumped into these wooden greeting cards I was perusing the oddities at my favorite San Francisco homegoods emporium, Nest. I quickly jotted down the name of the stationary company, Night Owl Paper Goods, hoping  to google my way to a cool business card. I found business cards on the site and so much more, including delightful eco-friendly holiday cards that will charm the baggy red pants off Santa and anyone else in your life lucky enough to  receive one.

I love how the two graphic artists who comprise Night Owl met at a design firm and conspired to own their own savvy greeting card company. After moonlighting for friends in need of invites and cards, they went out on a limb to produce little works of art on 1920’s letterpresses. The gentle and upbeat images are set on sustainably harvested yellow birch and can be personalized for an added cost.  You can also write on them easily with a pencil, marker or pen. About $4.75 each for 25-50 cards.

While at the site, also check out the eco-friendly wood journals and desktop notebooks by this wise pair of paper artists. And don’t miss Larkyn’s post on the sweet Valentine’s cards the company makes. It’ll be that time again before you know it.
