A Living Dahl: T-Shirt Dress Giveaway from a Project Runway Alum

One of my very favorite designers, Alison Kelly of Project Runway fame, is finally coming over to the green side where eco-designers dwell.
Look for a small capsule collection she and her soul mate, Dane Risch, are putting together for both men and women.
(For the record: cutest couple going!)

The dress, made from 100% Tencel, a soft and buttery fiber made from wood pulp cellulose, is pure comfort and is so sweet.
Alison says: “The colors are putty, cafe au lait and black. I use these color names to conjure up the proper tones, seeing that the computer monitor can sometimes manipulate color. This top is available in all of my size offerings. It hits about mid-thigh so it can also be worn as a dress.”
Oh Alison, you had me at putty.

I’ve owned Tencel items before and they have been the easiest to care for and most comfortable pieces in my wardrobe. The eco-friendly factor is a plus in my book.

Definitely a piece you can wear all year long – as a dress in the summer, over leggings/jeans in the colder months paired with a cardigan. Would love to own one!

November 23rd, 2009 at 1:19 PM
super cute and simple!
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:30 PM
This is an adorable top! I love the color combination. This is one of those pieces that would look cute with a skirt, or just a plain pair of jeans and boots.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:41 PM
Very nice!! Someone is going to be very lucky!
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:45 PM
I love the color combo, it looks so comfy that you could stay in it all day
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:47 PM
I’m pleased to read that Tencel has softened it’s act. I bought some 6 yards in 2-yd cuts for skirts. I tossed it to a recycle center as the stuff was so scratchy. I’m hoping this will feel more like bamboo/silk mixture (or even softer.) Cordially, Nehmah/Emily McGehee

Extremely adorable and insanely versatile. Also, just the thought of wearing a shade titled “Cafe au Lait” makes me swoon.
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:28 PM
I am really excited to hear about this Tencel textile. I have just begun to research more environmentally sustainable materials and now have another to add to my list.
Great colors and design btw!!
November 23rd, 2009 at 4:46 PM
ADRABLE and romantic and I agree that tencel is super uber soft. I HEART the environmental fashion!! just wish most of the fabric wasn’t that expensive, but it’s worth it.

Hi, I was lured by the giveaway mentioned on burdastyle hehe. Wondering though, will it apply internationally? If not it’s o.k, good idea luring people here though, it’s a pretty good pro-eco site and I’ve learnt something new today (i didn’t know about tencel material)
November 24th, 2009 at 6:27 AM
I love it!! Go Green…… The colors and style will compliment many people. I wish I could touch it. Go BurdaStyle..

November 24th, 2009 at 7:45 AM
This is gorgeous, and a great rejoinder to those who say that green fashion is ugly or unstylish. This is adorable and looks everso soft and comfortable. I’ve never worn Tencel before though- I wonder how it stacks up against bamboo fabric, which is all soft and fresh.
November 24th, 2009 at 7:46 AM
Whoever said said seeing green was so wrong. Stuff like this gives seeing green a whole new meaning..LOVE IT!
November 24th, 2009 at 7:46 AM

Such an easy-to-wear cute dress whether you are a girlie girl or not. I’m nearly oblivious to the range of eco fabrics available now, not much call for this yet in Ireland unfortunately, would love to own a piece and I could see it being the start of great friendship between me and my own eco fabric friendly designs.
