I have always used cold water for 98% of my loads… and “cold water detergents” is a modern way to milk more money out of people who think cold water washing is a new, eco-chick trend. Any old detergent will work just fine. I’ve been doing this for way longer than you started to see cold water specific detergents on the shelf.

What a great post, in time for Mother’s Day! I always use warm water anyway because hot water seems to leach out all the color… and I like my clothes to last for a long time!
