The Mind Behind RC Green

Robert Craymer RC Green
Robert Craymer of RC Green wakes up every morning and says, "It's a great day to be alive." Fueled by his passion for furniture design, he taught himself the skills necessary to pursue this craft. Beginning with a sketch of a coffee table on the first page of a blank notebook, he altered this design each day until every page was full.

After making a name for his company in the design industry, Craymer yearned to do something greater for mankind. He gave his company an all-green makeover, using sustainable wood, recycled steel, eco fabrics, and non-toxic stains and glues, and created his new motto: “Think forward. Think change. Think green.”

Satisfied with his transformation, Craymer says, “If I left today, I could say, ‘I’ve done something that I can be proud of.’ It can’t get any better than that.”Craymer has come a long way in his 15 years of experience. His designs have been used at the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the Sundance Film Festival and Live-Earth, and he founded the Cradle to Cradle program, in which old furniture is recycled and refurbished.

He is also working on a line of all-natural bedding, T-shirts and shoes. As creative force behind the upcoming web site RC Green Tree, he aims to provide consumers with a central resource for eco-friendly products and services. The television show RC Green Room is also in the works, on which Craymer will feature various aspects of a green lifestyle and tell his audience, "If I can do it, anybody can do it!”
