Basic Recipe for Homemade Lip Balm
Makes about 15 small lip-balm containers
- 1/2 coconut oil
- 1/2 cup grated beeswax or beeswax pellets
- 1/2 cup shea butter
- 10-15 drops of essential oils, or a combination of your favorite
- About 15 small, lip-balm size containers
Add the beeswax to a saucepan or double boiler over low heat, and once melted, add the coconut oil and sea butter. Let remain over the heat until all is melted, stirring occasionally. Once melted and evenly combined, remove the pan from the stove and stir in the essential oils. Separate the mixture among the containers and let sit for about 30 minutes at room temperature before putting on the lids.
