Eco Strides

-

Europe and Canada (and much of the rest of the world, for that matter) are years ahead of the U.S. in their eco-mindedness. Being green and local is inherent in their lifestyle, right down to the decisions they make about what to wear. Which is why, from a fashion perspective, the wealth of international eco-design talent is important to me.

We have already highlighted such names as Davina Hawthorne and Ciel. We hope you’re already familiar with Grace & Cello, but if you aren’t be sure to check out the basics by this Canadian design team. They’re all about eco-friendly fabrics and fair labor and the looks are simple, tailored and feminine – from casual to casually elegant.

Now, back to my point. It’s up to people like you and me to continue initiating change through our own actions and simultaneously spreading the word to others. Slowly but surely, we will make strides the rest of the world has already accomplished.
