How to Recycle Your Cell Phone

-

My husband is infuriating sometimes. He keeps a whole drawer filled with old odds and ends that he never uses, including ancient cell phones and SIM cards. I keep begging him to recycle those useless phones, but he refuses, insisting he’ll need them to read those SIM cards in case he needs to find an old phone number. Groan.

Well, if you’re not an incorrigible packrat and you want to recycle your old cell phones, check out VOIP‘s 50 Ways to Leave Your Cell Phone. Your wireless company might have recycling programs too. Verizon, for one, offers a recycling program (they were at the Democratic National Convention to raise awareness for cell phone recycling).

And, dear husband of mine, when you’re ready to sift through your junk drawer, please recycle those phones. If you won’t do it for my sanity’s sake, do it for the environment.
