I'm Not the I'm Not a Plastic Bag. But I'm Not a Plastic Bag.

Last spring there was incessant buzz surrounding a certain canvas bag. This year, designers from Louis Vuitton to Goyard are churning out a canvas bag assortment to give us plenty of apparently eco-luxe options. The trouble, of course, is separating the greenwash from the real thing.

The Beau Soleil Beau Bag retails for $44. Unlike many designer canvas bags, this one is both eco-true and perfectly suitable for ample trips to the grocery store or farmer’s market. Emblazoned with the words "Reduce, Recycle, Renew," the bag pays homage to small changes we can make in our own lives that will benefit the planet in which we inhabit on a large scale. Constructed of raw cotton, the bag also has recycled rope handles that are soft to the touch and stay put on your shoulder should you need to tool around town with the bag full. While it makes a perfect bag for toting your groceries, don’t be afraid to use it for the pool or beach to continue to tactfully spread the word on helping our planet – and look incredibly stylish while doing it.
