JoyRider Culture

-

I’m a die-hard bicyclist…unless it’s raining. But Nan Eastep creates custom raincoats that make me want to ride my bike in stormy weather.

These stylishly cut, waxed cotton raincoats look great anywhere but they’re brilliantly designed to provide a full range of motion while biking. The hood can be worn under a helmet and the entire design gracefully balances protection from the elements with bike safety.

Nan’s mission is to create clothing that promotes a bicycle and pedestrian culture. The designer sets up shop every Sunday at The Temescal Farmers’ Market in Oakland, CA, where she pedals out hemp knickers, t-shirts and other tailored fashions on her human powered sewing machine. You can also order JoyRider fashions via email.
