Lustables: Brish Hat Stand

Brish Hat Stand, you can hold my umbrella anytime.

How long I have lusted for a classic hat stand like this. And here it is in all its simple simplicity. That it’s made from locally coppiced hazel – harvested by hand, might I add – is the icing on the top hat. Coppicing, designer Benjamin Rollins Caldwell explains, is a woodland management method that provides a renewable supply of wood.

What’s special about this hat stand is that, in addition to being made from sustainable materials, it’s utilitarian, stylish and unobtrusive. My hat goes off to you, Mr. Caldwell.

Price: $350.
