'Natural' Blondes Do Have More Fun

-

The old saying about blondes has been tempting you for years, so you did it – you dyed your hair. You went from chocolate brown to goldenrod and were nearly asphyxiated along the way. All those chemicals smeared onto your head, left sitting there, soaking into your scalp for hours. Sounds like a lot of fun, all right.

Stop right there, and highlight Grace Heaven Salon in your planner. At Grace, stylists use only gentle, fume-free products, ideal for people with chemical sensitivities or color fiends concerned about their hair’s health. They use an exclusive aromatherapy bleach, and pregnant women can even safely use one of their herbal color lines. (Next time you feel an inkling to color your locks, maybe you’ll test the theory about redheads.)

If you’re not going to be near Manhattan any time soon, you can DIY the eco-friendly way with this helpful guide. And treat your summer strands right: hair care brands we recommend include Trilogy’s moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, Green People’s Intensive Repair Shampoo, and Headonism’s natural hair care line. These organic products contain essential oils, herbs, and fragrances that promote healthy, holistic hair.

Editor’s note: to go red instead, try henna.

If anyone is in the Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ area there is a new organic hair salon, Green With Envy Organic Hair Studio that uses all non-toxic products including dyes. I was shocked, they are awesome, even in a LEED certified building! I hope more businesses follow this model and there will be more of these popping up around the country. http://greenwithenvyhair.com/
