Funny, inspired by yesterday's piece on getting kids out I said okay to my two kids to go do some light kayaking on our pond.
It is still spring here and yesterday was really windy. I let my 11 year old son go first and stay close to shore, my daughter wanted to swim.
While my son battled near white cap water and my daughter turned purple, I didn't want to say "I told you it was too cold," because after all, they wanted to be outside doing what they were doing.

We stayed 15 minutes there freezing with June's spring breezes whipping us, stepped in dog poo and lost the kayak three times on the road back due to the kayak's poor placement on the wheels.

Was it better than watching them stare at the Wii?
Absolutely.
