In response to the comment by Global Patriot: yes it does seem surprising that more religions aren't more gung-ho about preserving God's creation. But unfortunately, some religions (like Evangelical Christianity) have the belief that the world must go to climactic war and destruction in order for Jesus to come back and the Rapture to occur. So, some religious zealots actually *want* complete and total Earth destruction. Pretty scary and irresponsible thinking, if you ask me!

Whether you believe in one God or another, it's clear that we are stewards of the planet and part and parcel of creation, and we need to take good care!

It has been perplexing that religions have not be at the forefront of the movement toward building a sustainable planet. The mention above about protecting the earth is where it all starts - living from a place of respect for all living creatures, as well as the land, water and air.
