I hate mopping, too :). The way I do it is to use an indoor/outdoor push broom (with a small head--not too wide and with pretty short bristles) and a wet dishtowel. I bought a sixpack of identical dishtowels used only for mopping the floor and for cleaning up spills on the floor. I just fill up a bucket with enough liquid and cleaner to soak and wring a dishtowel, and push the towel around the floor with the broom. For especially tough spots, I use the broom by itself on the floor to scrub. I've had the same dishtowels for years and they're still going strong. Once they've lived their lives as mops heads, I can relegate them to the rag bag for a second life.
