I've Got Chills, They're Multiplyin'

(Above scarves by Rachel Comey)
I love scarves. In the spring, when that lingering coolness has decided it just can’t let go, I wrap myself up and buckle down for what remains of the cold months.
In New England, sometimes that lasts a lot longer than we like.
For years, I envied the women walking by me stylishly clad and wrapped in silks and cottons, the perfect finishing touch to their spring jackets. By the time I got around to it, spring had fully sprung and scarves were an after-thought.
This year I’ve grabbed a few to add color to my black cotton swing jacket (ethnic and fringy) and my watercolor printed spring jacket (soft pink).
These eco-friendly scarves by Virginia Johnson (below)

and Ivana Helsinki are beautiful and the perfect fit for your seasonal transition, or just to make you look more put together.

I have to say I have grown fond of scarves after years of not really knowing how to work them. They ended up looking more like prayer shawls on me than accessories. I love the ones you found, especially the exotic brown and white one.

I loved them at first sight too!
Prayer shawls?

Love scarves. Haven’t been wearing them this season, though – I need to!
I’ve got a whole rack of them.

I don’t blame you for your multiplying chills – I’d get them too, but of excitement. They’re truly gorgeous scarves.
I’ve really got into scarf-wearing this year, for the first time in my life. Perfect for Old England as well as New!

Where I’ve seen scarves worn most incredibly is by the lads and ladies of Montreal. I can’t quite explain how they do it, but when I see scarves wrapped around their hair or their necks in just that way, I know they’re from Quebec. If you’ve been there, you absolutely know what I mean.
