DIY: Eco-Friendly Wood Polish

lime wedges

Next time you set out to buff your furniture, toss those toxic cleaners and make your own natural alternative instead with just lemon or lime juice, olive oil and water.

It's a snap:

Juice one lemon or two limes and make sure to remove any pulp. (If you’re short on time, you can substitute with pre-squeezed lemon juice.) Pour the juice into a small container and add a teaspoon of olive oil and water. Stir this concoction and, using a damp sponge or towel, polish wood surfaces.

Talkin Trash

Eco Poo Bags: Worth Their Weight in Clever, Clean and Green?

jungeschachtel dog poos bags
I admit it - I used to buy those brand-new blue bags in a roll to pick up my dog’s poop. Not the greenest item, actually not green at all, but very convenient and clean.

How to Safely Get Rid of Paint, Toxic Cleaning Products and Motor Oil

Sorry to burst your bubble, but not even eco-bloggers are eco-perfect. Case in point: the last time I moved I had to deal with a few cans of leftover house paint. It wasn’t worth taking with me so I left those cans in the shed for the next resident to deal with. Not the greatest karma, but at least I didn’t throw the paint in the trash.
