The Al Gore Sofa and More by Robert Craymer

If you’re wary of greenwash when you scour the Internet for eco-friendly furniture, RC Green is one company to bookmark. (You don’t get greener than naming your sofa Al Gore.) Furniture designer Robert Craymer abides by the "all-green" philosophy and clearly states why each of his pieces is 100% organic and natural. The simply chic Alexander sofa is proof that you don’t have to sacrifice your sense of style in your efforts to be environmentally conscious. This gorgeous sofa’s frame is made from FSC-certified wood with a non-toxic, formaldehyde free finish.

Or perhaps the oh-so-cool yet cuddly Al Gore sofa is more to your taste?

RC Green offers a choice of cotton, linen, bamboo or hemp upholstery, available in a variety of rich, earthy hues to complement any room in your home. (Call for pricing; available at RC Green.)

Hi, Cheryl, I feel you.
Since I am such a style nut and living in a very expensive city (San Francisco), I find cool things by hunting online and in vintage shops – you can find very cool mid-century and high-end furniture for a song. While it’s not FSC or recycled, because you are reusing it, this is a green way to shop. In fact, it’s the greenest method of all.
