Vegan Sweeties Knows How the Cookie Crumbles

An enterprising San Francisco bakery is producing the following lineup of vegan delicacies: Russian Tea Cakes, Brownie Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Peanut Butter Cookies.

You read that correctly. It's all vegan. Vegan Sweeties produce their gourmet line-up in a specially-designed vegan kitchen using ingredients that include fresh organic peanuts and vegan sugar. Even the packaging is corn-based resin (and thus compostable).

These baker's delights are not only delicious, they're missing a common ingredient of cakes and biscuits - guilt. They're hydrogenated fat and oil free, and they don't contain any cholesterol whatsoever. (You can read that line again if you like).

Have a read of the Taste Better! interview with Vegan Sweeties owner Laurie Dolan. And when you're ready to sample a cookie or two, remember that the bakery requires advance orders to ensure they reach you in freshest condition. Prices vary, but a decadent dozen chocolate chip cookies will cost you $14.
