Wear Your Body Naked: Beauty from the Inside Out

-

I’ve always been a very natural girl. The lightest mineral powders make my cheeks itch and lipstick is more than I need to taste. Plus I grew up in a time when animal testing ran rampant in the cosmetic industry, so needless to say, I never became a big fan of makeup.

Instead, I wear my body naked and take care of my beauty from the inside out. The best beauty secret is healthy skin, because there is no coloring or cosmetic that can recreate the living sheen of skin’s natural radiance. (But of course, a little gold dust can help!)

From the inside out:
- Eat whole, balanced foods, and moderate your sugar intake. Sugar can fuel candida growth in some people, which can mean too many pimples. Contrary to popular belief, fats do not  cause blemishes – in fact, an unnatural adherence to low-fat or no-fat eating can actually cause dry skin and blemishes! The human body, and particularly women’s bodies, really needs fat – our cells are lined with saturated fat, in fact. We evolved on a mix of fresh greens, copious nuts, tubers, berries and ultra-fatty organ meats (we were pretty adept little scavengers!). I wouldn’t recomend eating liver or brain – yuck – but don’t be afraid of a little organic butter or a handful of almonds daily.
-Cleansing is important, but more so is to eat a generally cleansing diet. That means plenty of fiber, preferably from fresh fruits and vegetables. Fiber moves toxins and, well, crap out of your body. Get plenty of "bulk" in your diet.
-Skin is thirsty, so drink plenty of water to stay clean, supple and plump! Think of how a grape turns to a raisin. Cells shrivel and fatigue, too.
-Beauty is way more than just skin deep. Inner radiance always translates to the outside, too. There’s nothing worse for your face than a grumpy scowl, and the hardest hearts have been known to melt from the radiance of a genuine smile.

So be nakedly happy, and be beautiful straight from the source.
