Great tips and you do make it seem fun to clean out the closet mess. I do think that you've overlooked a key component in the process. To really have an organized closet that encourages you to keep it that way you need to start with the proper infrastructure. This is to say that you are best served with a closet system made with shelves, rods and built in drawers or baskets. I also recommend an adjustable system so you can change it as you needs change. There's something about knowing where everything goes that keeps it that way and stops you from cluttering it up again. I actually design closets for a living and always tell my clients to ditch the wire hangers. You are so right to suggest folding rather than hanging sweaters. They will last longer.
