It was an interesting list. My favorite was the salt in the milk to keep it fresh longer. I'm definitely going to try that one since that is a common problem for us.

I knew a lot of the tips from my Mom and particularily my Grandmother. My Grandmother taught my husband to cook and passed down many lessons and tips to me from her French cooking background.

An important tip to pass down is to remember to taste the food you are cooking. Many times people just follow a recipe and forget to see how it tastes before serving it and then adjusting as needed.

One thing I try to do in the kitchen while cooking is to fill the sink with soapy water and wash dishes throughout the cooking process so most of my dishes are done before we've even sat down to dinner.

Love these tips and will add one more. When using green onions, leave the bottom 2 inches or so and put them in a glass of water. They will continue to grow. Snip as needed. I found this some time ago on the web and it works great!
