it's interesting how you tell us to "find supportive friends" in a day and age where people are increasingly selfish and self-absorbed. it's almost impossible to find friends who are interested in supporting you and encouraging you. "friends" these days are only interested in what you can give them and contribute to their lives. as soon as you no longer offer up something valuable, they ditch you. this "disposable" friendship society is getting worse with the younger generation. i have almost 1000 friends on facebook, and almost all of them are "fair weather" friends. only there when things are happy and positive. if anything goes wrong, they disappear. they are not supportive. these are friends from church, school, work, etc. all walks of life. the more i talk to people, the more i hear the same complaint: everyone is too busy and focused on their own lives to really be there for anyone else. find supportive friends?? good luck with that!
