wow, this is just simply NOT true. when my cat was the most ill of his life, my vet instructed me to place him on a vegetarian diet of sweet potatoes. cats love sweet potatoes. there were other things i added in, but NONE of them meat products. cats and dogs will NOT die on a vegetarian diet. in fact, my cat lived a full 24 years o this earth! if that isn’t proof i’m not sure what is…

I’m so glad someone caught that quickly. Dogs CAN go veggie with some serious work put down by their owners, but cats? Cats will die. Not “get sick”, not “tire”, just flat out DIE on a meat free diet. Beyond that… not a bad article (and that’s coming from someone with no intention of leaving her omnivore ways behind!)

Dogs and cats are carnivores, and should NEVER be on a vegetarian diet. Forcing a carnivore to become a vegetarian is just as irresponsible as forcing a herbivore to eat animal protein. IF you want a herbivore for a pet, there are plenty to choose from!
