I had the exact same happen to me Stephanie. I switched over to Organic Color Systems after client complaints about other Natural lines. Organic Color Systems is the Natural Hair Color that saved my salon!

Has anyone ever heard of Green Washing… I wish someone would write an honest article on hair color. The words natural and Eco friendly applied to hair color and other products is just a marketing tactic… If your hair changes color, especially going dark to light, then there are chemicals involved. A lot of company’s use other chemicals just as harmful and then mask them with ingredients like lavender.

I switched to Organic Color Systems from Ecocolors about a year ago. I had a big problem with Ecocolors fading and some clients that experienced irritation or reactions to it. Organic Color Systems is awesome! My clients love it and many of them can get their hair colored a lot more frequently which has quite frankly saved my business during this recession. I am a complete evangelist for this product now. I would recommend it to anyone! Very good article. We need to see more of these 🙂

Kathie – your color looks so natural and is so pretty (perfect color for Maureen someday:)). I’m not sure what my hairstylist uses, but I have an appt. on Thurs. so I’ll have to find out. Thanks for the great info!

Thanks! The price at Primrose is affordable for Los Angeles — you won’t pay more than what’s up the street at a “regular” salon. And from what I understand, henna can be extremely toxic, (they add in all sort of bad things in this modern day n’ age) so you have to be careful as to what brand you use. And I hear you about covering the grays….

I’ve been writing about L’Oreal, too, and I agree, you can’t really call it “eco”. But I suppose you have to pick the best of what you can get, as you did. Your hair looks lovely! I know what you say, about natural color being the greenest, but boo to that right now. Not quite ready for that gray. It really ages you.
