I can't even find silk where I live. Only run of the mill(sweatshop) surfer and skater brands that are way overpriced and low end Wal-Mart clothes that make me cringe anytime that I have dared to try them on. Can't bring myself to shop online for clothing. I do remember having a silk top as a kid and it was my fave thing to wear. So comfy.

Taking care of a person's silk clothes takes effort. Some people are afraid to wear it, thinking it might get some hard-to-remove stains. If they follow this, it will be much easier for them. They can either have it hand washed or dry cleaned and ironed on low heat.

I can't imagine why young people would avoid silk, it looks beautiful on all ages. I understand though that it is more a summer sort of fabric. I find Tencel (Lyocell) feels as luxurious as silk but keeps you warmer in the colder months!

no way! silk is perfect for all ages - from a newborn to grandmas. It is very versatile fabric and has 1000 and 1 look and feel. There is no other fabric better and more pleasant to skin like silk.
I find this attitude very weird - that young people avoid silk. Weird! And I never thought like that. I think silk is very youthful too. So I guess saying "no" to silk is a part of being ignorant of silk's versatility.
I love silk, I wear silk, I create with silk and it's one of the easiest fabrics to take care of :)
