I think a few things need to be stated in defense of lululemon. (a) Chip Wilson is not Lululemon. The company is a mass of many employees and their customers, and while Chip may have founded it and laid some of its early ethos, a company is not its founder. He may personally advocate a neutral stance around child labor, however Lulu won't be touching child labor ever and its employees/customers wouldn't allow it. (b) Of course any ultra-business savy competitive entrepreneur is going to lean right... Do you think the founders and CEOs at corps like Nike, UnderArmor, or Victoria's Secret are putting their support into worthier or more humane causes? I've worked a lot with start-ups and if you think his views are out-there, let me tell you that I'd call him quite moderate for his crowd. (Just so you know where I stand; I'm a progressive and a huge fan of Chomsky).

Honestly, I can think of two athletic retail companies that I would rate higher than Lulu in terms of ethics; the first is Patagonia (a fucking fantastic clothing company) and the second is MEC. I'm sure there are others, but I don't know personally know them.

I don't mind you calling out Lulu, but by not framing them fairly, you also encourage surrender to brands like Walmart or Nike which do far greater harm.
