My 29 year old nephew was just diagnosed with lung cancer and a mass was found in his stomach. He has always been a non smoker, but he was stationed in northern Iraq for a time. He is married with 2 beautiful little girls and is now facing uncertainty. Family believe it is linked to his service in Iraq. Please keep Paul in your prayers.

Great article, Luanne. And very unsettling.

Making companies (and governments) culpable for the effects of exposure to war-waging chemicals is very provocative - right in the face of the "end justifies the means" ethos of all-out war (not suggesting that's always the approach, but it's been known).

Also, once this beds in, I'll be interested to see how military authorities react to anything that could potentially get in the way of a soldier carrying out his orders (ie. if you strongly suspect you will be exposed to potentially lethal toxins and your orders are to do just that, how should you react?).

Men and women being used as guinea pigs for the government is just wonderful.
What is wrong with this country?!
At least somebody (the IAVA) is trying to make government accountable.
