Thanks for reading and commenting, PopLove/Andrea. There has been some criticism post-Tuesday evening that this event did not go far enough to demonstrate a more innovative use of sustainable materials and fabrics. To that end, I feel that it is important to emphasize the positive on occasions like this as the primary focus of the event was fundraising for environmental groups and non-profits, and to this extent the event was extremely successful. The ongoing transition to using sustainable textiles, though, is one that we are going to have to be patient with as designers factor in lots of different things in terms of the growth and identity of their brands. The less segregated we are the better, and tolerance goes a long way when it comes to giving mainstream designers a helping hand. – Abigail
