I found that dried coffee grounds work best as a facial or body scrub if mixed with a little bit of face or body wash. Otherwise, they are hard to rub in and just fall off your skin.

Using the grounds as a hair treatment was a mistake. The only way I got it all out was by using conditioner and wasting a lot of water (my hair is only shoulder length). My shower was extended by 10 minutes.

By the way, I did not smell like coffee afterward.

My gorgeous & magically green-thumbed Great-Grandmother taught us to feed our old coffee grounds to the roses!

Roses love the acid, plus the strongly scented grounds help keep the pests at bay.....

Thanks for this posting!! It brought up some dear memories of one of my most amazing role models....

I'm curious about whether coffee would work well as a facial product or hair conditioner but I'm not sure if I'm game enough to try. I'm a bit worried about the smell.

I am skeptical of the ant-repellant claim. The worst ant problem in my house is on the counter where we make the coffee. Also, all of our used coffee grounds go into the compost bin (and we make at least 2 pots a day) and when wem recently used some of the compost, we found lots of ants there as well.
