In Australia it’s practically an institution to have a ‘Hills Hoist’ clothesline in your backyard; it’s part of the Australian dream and even rates a mention in the patriotic song Home Among the Gum Trees! Who’d have thought that it could possibly be illegal for some people to have one?! I feel guilty putting the dryer on even in the dead of winter when it’s been raining for three days straight (like today). Great thought provoking article, I’m going to click through and find out more 🙂
