And rightly so.

I think they’ll weather it if they demonstrate exactly how they’ve learned from it. If they make the right noises but then disappear behind their Great Social Firewall (if you’ve ever tried to contact Facebook Support, you’ll know what this is) then I’ll bet they’ll get a lot of criticism. After all, this makes all their other eco-minded work look like greenwashing, and once that label gets attached, it doesn’t come off easily.

LEED gold can be achieved with only minimal energy efficiency, (I have no access to their LEED point profile) With the seriousness of global warming they could add a renewable energy component which would put this bad publicity behind them and make a difference to boot.
