Wow! Well said. I agree whole-heartedly. I am hoping we’re moving toward that “local, healthy food, available to all” future. Sometimes I wonder. Next time you buy your perfect Little Gem lettuce at the farmers’ market, thank the vendor for growing it. Don’t complain about the $1 price. Ask her when was the last time she had a vacation, then give her $2.

Personally, I loathe the term. It suggests some sort of addiction or dependence like wino or junkie. (Except of course we’re ALL dependent on food).
