A better, more comfortable shave can be had with either a double-edge safety razor or a traditional straight razor, and the D-E blades are much more environmentally friendly than the multi-blade cartridges. Moreover, it encourages a man to take care of his skin, and not just rip off the fuzz.

The razors last forever, and the blades can be recycled. The soaps and creams used for lathering with a brush also typically require less packaging.
