		<description><![CDATA[Elly, unfortunately the modern food business is heavily reliant on salt; it&#039;s a preservative, it&#039;s cheap, it&#039;s plentiful, it&#039;s addictive, and it covers up the lack of taste in most processed foods. From soups to chips to crackers to snacks, salt turns otherwise bland, processed and refined carbohydrates and unhealthy stabilized fats into something palatable. Would Doritos chips be tasty without all the chemical flavoring and salt? Would canned soups be as popular? Nope. I doubt the FDA will ever do much more than pay lip service. It&#039;s so important to eat fresh, whole foods for this very reason.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Dulse flakes (dulse is a sea vegetable) is a common salt substitute for people watching their blood pressure. If you just put a pinch, you won&#039;t get the seaweed flavor, just a salty, slightly-spicy flavor. Plus it&#039;s full of trace minerals (including iodine, which is near impossible to get anywhere else besides Morton&#039;s Iodized Salt). Enjoy it!]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Is there any way that the FDA can put a limit on salt or any other sodium put in processed food.  In this day of health awareness and cost of medical coverage, it would make sense to limit this intake of sodium.
I&#039;m on a high blood pressure medication at this time.  But I&#039;ve cut down alot of salty products that I consume.  I do not intend on being dependent on medication forever.
I&#039;ve been reading quite a few labels in the supermarket and between sodium and corn syrup, we sure are making the pill pushers pretty rich.
This is the age of CHANGE, we keep hearing.  So let&#039;s get these OBESE MAKERS to stand-up and be held accountable.
