It is difficult for me to belive anyone would want to change Huck Finn’s book, would you change the movie ‘Roots’ so that white people don’t look so bad, I think not?

Removing the word “nigger” from Huck Finn and replacing it with the word “slave” is an act of censorship but worse, it’s an act of literary vandalism. How will people ever understand anything about the history of the word “nigger” and why it’s offensive, if it’s simply excised? And “slave” really does not mean the same thing.

Also a “faith-based children’s science textbook used for Darwin-free schooling” should carry a big disclaimer on the front saying that it has nothing to do with science.
