Oh by the way, Crystal Waters is not in suburbia – it’s a good hour and a half from Brisbane and it’s half an hour’s drive from the nearest town with a high school. It was originally a dairy farm, then a hippy commune, before becoming the permaculture village way back in 1989. It was started as a collective and is run by a body corporate, so yes it’s a ‘development’ but not in the traditional sense. Oh….oh….oh….yes!!

The thought of tearing down strip malls and planting permaculture farms and orchards just gets me so excited!

Or even just seeing lawns turn into suburban gardens, that’s titillating enough!
