I would bet 100 of the best wines that not a one of you could decipher a quality boxed wine vs a quality bottled wine. The mere thought that anyones’ palate could easily tell the difference is ridiculous. Try a good boxed wine and you’ll see. Save some money and live green…..and avoid being pretentious.

If I had a recommendation for a nice wine that happens to be in a box, I’d probably try it.

You can’t age boxed wine to the best of my knowledge, so I think it’s probably inescapable that most of the good stuff will be in bottles. Glass is very recyclable or reusable and cork, contrary to what many people seem to think, is a fabulous reusable resource. I hate the plastic corks, but I don’t mind screwtops – they are very practical if you don’t want to finish the wine in one go.
