Wow, I leave looking at this article for a second and you’re all talking without me!

Sorry Elke, those leggings are honestly all I wear which is good that I have as many. I’ve accrued the six pairs over the course of 5 years by the way which speaks a lot for how well I adapt to change and perhaps how much use I get out of my leggings.

Sorry to have confused you.
While you might think this is nonsense and perhaps not an ecopage, it is and we all strive to find the balance between good fashion as well as sustainable fashion and we think it’s okay to be girlie once in a while too.

All work and no play makes Amy a very dull eco-fashion writer.

…and clothes (at least any clothes that I may “chuck”) are not thrown in the garbage to end up in landfills. They are repurposed, rehashed, sold, donated, swapped and so on.

PS Also, I don’t replace my entire wardrobe every season but I do buy some new clothes each season, as old ones wear out. I don’t think Amy was advocating that you buy Prairie Underground’s entire line and throw them out and replace them at the end of every season.

@Elke I think your point is valid and I’d question the eco-credentials if the article was on how to wear something faddish like bubble skirts or toeless boots. However, Amy makes the point in the article that leggings “aren’t going anywhere soon”. Leggings are not a seasonal fashion fad – they are eternally popular, like jeans. It makes sense from an ecological point of view to learn about the best ways to wear non-faddish fashions.

Is this seriously an ecopage??? Six leggings of that style, the next two ordered of another style, and oh, they change seasonally! Wow! We can have different looks and trendy fashion items galore, no matter the cost. Just chuck them when the next six pairs come along.

While I do like leggings myself and also do not want to judge your personal foibles I find it highly questionable that you are promoting this unsustainable nonsense in the context of an ecological website. And everybody else going along with enthusiasm.

What is going on here?
