I agree with everything you’ve said and same with everyone else. I figure there’s no real point in making a paragraph because everyone else has already shared my same feelings. But I would like to point out that I am 16 years old, so there is some hope for the future. 🙂 Great article as well, though it is unfortunately infuriating. I honestly believe we’re going to wind up killing ourselves, and quite soon as well.

Sun Chips is one of my favorite snacks, and I was really happy when they decided to make the packaging compostable. I was a bit perplexed when I realized how loud and crunchy the bags were, but I adjusted by eating in such a way to avoid making too much noise with the bag.

It’s a testament to the endlessly lazy american lifestyle we’d rather have “not as loud” snack bags bulging our landfills rather than a bag that will decompose in the trash…

I agree 100% with you. Frito Lays should have explained the purpose of the new packaging to help our environment and stuck to their reasoning instead of allowing customers (that normally do nothing but complain about crap) to dictate how they will package sun chips.

If you are a company owner and you truly want to help the environment then make the decision to do something and stick to it no matter what anyone else says…you need to stand up for what you believe in. Our future existence depends on people doing the right thing.

I agree; I was disappointed too. I thought they were crazy loud–unlike any sort of packaging I’ve ever experienced–but I still bought them and was really happy they were compostable. I don’t eat them out of the bag anyway, but I do like that they’re whole grain.

Still: Have you heard the bags? It sounds like you haven’t, and you probably should have before writing this. I saw them in the stores just the other day, so you might be able to catch them. They’re not just a little bit loud. They actually hurt my ears.

It is a sad state of affairs when a little noise causes a good thing to go away. Should we do away with birds because they sing loud or children? Shame on Frito for caving to such a minor complaint.
