So many women don’t have the benefit of privilege, education or other bonuses out of the gate in life, and Oprah helps them see that they really can take charge of their lives, improve themselves, seek healthy relationships, and find greater fulfillment. On balance I think she’s done some tremendous good. I do wish she wasn’t so focused on consumption. O magazine could sure stand to green itself up. For a woman so clearly passionate about consciousness and awareness, I’m surprised she hasn’t woken up to eco living in a bigger way.
