While I always applaud planting trees, families are just trying to make more money to build up a dowry to make their daughters more attractive, instead of tackling the real problem: the fact that it is socially acceptable to value a woman by the size of her dowry. What if men in the US judged a woman based on her trust fund, and then killed her if she didn’t have one?
