Every day I have to tell my customers that I use 2 materials in my collection that I cannot buy in the US. I have to import hemp. It is a green enough material that it justifies the transportation pollution. I want to legalize pot so that hemp can be cultivated in the US for fabrics, food and it's many other uses. This in not just about stoners.

People have been growing weed in parks and national forests for a long time. It only gets in the news when there's a bust. I don't think it's an appropriate place, but I think raising environmental concerns about pot-growing deflects attention from much more serious environmental issues. I agree fully with your legalization arguments.

Way to grow, Caitlin! like the sentiments, and think you would make a great pothead someday if you so desired. You are right, national parks are not the ideal spot for cultivating weed. And you are right that it is boneheaded not to legalize and benefit from a drug already being used to medicate.
