Love that notion, Susan. My family decided a few years back to only give gifts to the kids on holidays. Even that gets out of hand when aunts and uncles go overboard and I cringe. Truth is, most of us need hugs more than stuff. Those who are truly in need should be the ones to receive.

I am all in favor of cutting down on the gift-exchanging for the holidays, not just to be green but also to save money and headaches! Too bad when you bring this concept up to some family and friends, they start seeing you as a Scrooge. Why not just exchange hugs and gratitude over a hot cup of cocoa?

I hadn’t thought of that before, but your’e right. In some areas he made a very light footprint on the planet, which was very green of him. Even a dark soul has a little light.
