The rural life may not be for everyone, but we are well-suited for it. We love growing our own food in our big organic garden, the fresh fruit from the berry bushes and fruit trees is incomparable, and I feel a connection to my Midwest ancestors every time I can tomatoes or make jam. Of course, the only concerts I hear these days are the ones given by the peepers or the crickets at night, but that’s good enough for me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go cut some rhubarb and check on the asparagus bed.
