Especially bottles that you are keepiong for awhile. I find most wines available in stores need one to five years more aging to be at their best. I drink old-world, low intervention wines. The opposite of the California style of wine making. So remember that temperature fluctuation, vibration and humidity hurt wine. Perhap it would be better to invest in a small wine refrigerator. Not all are created equal so research them before purchasing one.
