I've used this kettle for over a year and become very fond of it. It's much quicker and easier to measure water accurately using the plunger and the gauge, and far more convenient than carrying brimming measures of water across the kitchen. Its presence is also a neat reminder about saving energy and water every time it's used, by ourselves or our guests. In practice we do use less water, because the alternative ways to measure are less accurate and so we would add a little extra to be sure. Of course we could survive without the Eco kettle, but its simplicity and practicality mean that saving energy becomes an easier habit to acquire. Isn't that exactly what your website is all about? Laugh all you like, but I'm afraid you've missed the point.

This certainly sounds like they're over-complicating things. It's a good idea to save energy (and also water) by only boiling what you need but you don't need a gadget for this!

However, it's certainly greener to boil water in a kettle than in a pot on the stove, and that's something to bear in mind when you're cooking too.

I have one at home and at work. Not only is it very energy-efficient, you don't have to wait around for your nice hot cuppa either.

Yeah, that's a good point! Why use so many plastic-factory appliances when we can just be smarter humans instead?
