Desire to Inspire is thousands of miles and hundreds of spaces all wrapped up into a website brimming with flawlessly curated design. The brilliant feminine duo behind Desire to Inspire (Kim & Jo) live in different hemispheres but their passion for design is united, cohesive, and expansive.

When I grow up, I want to be a retronaut; Chris Wild already is and he is generously sharing his portal with the world. Mr. Wild’s intriguing website (and it is intriguing) is a place in time dancing with whimsy. How to be a Retronaut is a website where you can scroll and click with wild abandon and pure wonder, “If the past is a foreign country, this is your passport.”

A retronaut is someone who travels through time using just perception. How to be a Retronaut is a charismatic playground within a timeline that invites you to be a retronaut. The appeal of the website is in variety and unexpected entertainment. Where else can you find Eiffel Tower blueprints, a blooper reel from the 1930s, and a 5000 year old piece of chewing gum?! There are roots to modern chromatics, like this Crayola color chart graphically depicting the evolution from 8 crayon colors to 120 colors in 97 years (image above). For a dash of Parisian history, devour the details of this flat (who doesn’t want this ostrich?!).

I love the nostalgic photographs hidden throughout the website. These images of a Brooklyn gang in 1959 are completely captivating.

These Parisian glimpses (in color!) are from the WWII era.

So, what’s on the menu? Now that the chaos of the traditional November feast is but a faint memory, is your menu already lined with dishes fit for a photograph and waiting to flirt with your palate? Admittedly, it may be a little too soon (do you still have leftovers lingering in the fridge?) to write the menu for your next gathering, but the following will give you one more thing (resource) to be grateful for.

What Katie Ate is a blog chronicling the culinary adventures of food stylist and photographer Katie Quinn Davies. Now, I realize that recreating the delicious recipes sprinkled around her blog will undoubtedly not be quite as poetically photogenic, but your taste buds will be just as pleased (you can always eat with your eyes closed).

Ms. Davies’ blog is undeniably one of the most aesthetically lovely places of online real estate, yet it’s laced with pragmatic recipes and confections that allow you to get knee deep in ingredients, baking, and sautéing. What Katie Ate is located in Australia, so there is a touch of the southern hemisphere in her foodie addiction.

Here are two of my favorite green spaces at Automatism. First up, this simple weekend retreat (once a boat shed) is the perfect antidote to chaotic weekday stress (image above). Charlotta Ward is an artist; you can see it in the way she finesses the words and images on her blog as though she is delicately finessing the last details of an intricate painting. Everything at Space for Inspiration is thoughtful and gorgeous with a layer of spontaneity that always excites my palate. Brace yourself to meet a design blog that knows no restrictions of style and the only inhibition is stunning aesthetic, whether served modern, Scandinavian, industrial, mid-century, etc. You will discover homes with pallid palettes lounging next to vivid bohemian interiors. Variety is the spice of life and the secret of Space for Inspiration.

I have set up a delicious little five course meal to tease your senses. Each morsel comes garnished with a link leading to the full entrée (tour) with a side dish of Charlotta’s words (and sources) at Space for Inspiration. Bon appetit!

The scintillating amuse-bouche (above) is a taste of a Barcelona home, “fused together with the cliff it is built on.”

The next course includes a plate of leafy greens from Spain.

This tropical hotel, “tucked away in the lush and authentic Bahian fishing village of Trancoso, Brazil,” will cleanse your palate (and refresh your soul).

A converted farmhouse from South Africa will serve as the main attraction, simple in color and texture – but complex in effect. (Don’t miss the gorgeous, “guest room in the converted barn,” with a gable headboard that will romance you!)

For dessert, a rich three-part sequence of Swedish bliss, architectural structure from a Swedish ski resort and a living room in Stockholm trimmed with a vibrant taste of Denmark.

Design for Mankind is a daily design blog from writer Erin Loechner. Ms. Loechner promises to be “always quirky, never reverent.” There are handfuls of reasons to swoon for this blog, I’ll give you my top three.

1: There is something enticing about a designer who is also a writer, it means you can expect gorgeous visuals laced with clever little words and sentiments that are as delicious to ingest as the visuals are to gaze upon.

2: Erin is reliable and loyal. Leave a comment on her blog (or one of the many blogs she writes for) and you will hear back from her personally (or someone cleverly disguised as her?) almost every single time. I swear. It’s infuriatingly charming.

3: Inspiration. Simple, intangible, priceless inspiration. Design for Mankind isn’t the type of design blog I typically fall for; it’s less furnishings and interior design (my true weaknesses) and more general relishment in the creativity lingering around the globe. Erin is forever sharing things I never knew my life was lacking – like the website that posts an ampersand a day (which I suddenly check compulsively) or this charming site that features random collections of whimsical things, or the sky project, or a life list. See? Pure inspiration.

I am always drooling over, swooning for, and lurking on This Is Glamorous. This flawless blog by Roseline Lohr is bursting with gorgeous, feminine, and (of course) glamorous interiors, photography, and fashion.

And every now and then, while I peruse, something makes me exclaim, “This is Glamorous and GREEN!” That’s right, this award-winning design blog and place of beauty is sprinkled with little doses of green allure. Roseline has featured several eco-chic products (I am completely taken with these decanter pendants), but don’t be limited to this category alone – there are lots of stunning sustainable interiors and fashions, like this dwelling in Greece. The images in this post (as seen on This is Glamorous) are from the private residence of Marilyn Katsaris, and it’s stunning. I wonder if she takes reservations?!

These pictures make me want to visit Greece, bask in the soft blues and tender greens. For now, I will have to settle for visiting This is Glamorous, basking in the gorgeous views and soaking up a delicious dose of Roseline (well, soaking up everything really).
