There are some things that never lose their luster – using a brand new tube of lipstick for the first time, a killer salon blowout, and the start of sweater weather. Yes, ladies, that time is once again upon us. So, if Pinning sweaters like a psycho has got you jonesing for the real thing, then you’re going to enjoy the collection of super cuddly, super cozy, and super chic cruelty-free sweaters we have in store for you!

If protecting innocent little sheep also happens to be on your stuff-that-never-gets-old list, then you’ll be relieved to hear that our cruelty-free sweater compilation is also wool-free. According to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), these gentle animals face unnecessary and inhumane abuse in exchange for their coats.

Not only are sheep stripped of their protective fleece in order to produce our woolen sweaters, but they are also sometimes injured during the process from the shearing blade and may be stitched up with a regular needle and thread on the spot – sans anesthetic! This is because most shearers are “usually paid by volume, not by the hour, which encourages fast work without any regard for the welfare of the sheep,” says PETA.

Furthermore, after an undercover investigation by PETA into several U.S. and Australian shearing sheds, even more atrocities were uncovered. Sadly, some shearers inflicted ridiculously cruel physical abuse and even death on these sheep. I will spare you the gruesome details since they’re so graphic and heartbreaking, but you can read the rest of PETA’s report here.

It’s said to be “crazy soft” inside and most definitely shares a crazy cool message on the outside. Like the company’s website claims, this really would look great with almost anything – throw it over a button down with a pair of jeans and boots, or pair it with a skater skirt and opaque tights to recreate one of the hottest trends around.

People Tree

Sweater weather just wouldn’t be complete without a curve-hugging sweater dress to pair with all of your booties, leggings, and scarves this fall. Fortunately, People Tree has brought you this 100 percent organic cotton Keisha Knitted Dress in winter white. It has the perfect amount of slouchiness, making it subtly sexy and perfectly fine to wear at the office with boots and tights.

Prana

For a welcome change of pace, and for when those evenings are just not that cold, try on this oversized Estee Sweater Vest from Prana. Ideal for layering, this chunky sweater is said to drape comfortably over the body, and the button down front can be worn open or closed. Made from 100 percent organic cotton, this cruelty-free sweater would look great with fitted turtlenecks, thicker sweaters, ¾ sleeve tops, and even short sleeve tees.

H&M

Look varsity chic in this well-fitted V-neck Cardigan from H&M. The half cotton, half acrylic fine-knit sweater would be super stylish paired with a skirt and thigh-highs similar to what the store’s model is already wearing. Also try it on with jeggings and a pair of faux leather riding boots for an equestrian-esque ensemble.

Indigenous

When a sweater screams “Hotness!” you know it’s a keeper. That’s why we just had to share this sultry navy blue Rib Turtleneck from Indigenous. Touted as “pullover luxury,” this sweater is said to be ultra-soft with a slouchy t-neck, long fitted sleeves, and is equipped with unique rib panels that optimize its fit and body contour capabilities. Comprised of 55 percent organic cotton and 45 percent tencel, no sheep were harmed in the making of this sweater. Pair this with faux leather pants and dress it up with a low-slung belt and long necklace that falls below the sweater’s neckline.
