After bursting onto the fashion stage in 2011, ethical designer Carrie Parry previews major fall trends in her new lookbook in partnership with The Self-Portrait Project.

Carrie Parry is having a good year. Her stunning breakout Fall 2011 collection instantly confirmed her as the ethical designer to watch. The Los Angeles native quickly garnered coverage in WWD, Marie Claire and ELLE and earned top honors at The Green Fashion Competition, a coveted spot at WWDMagic’s LaunchPad and took home the Ethical Fashion Forum’s 2011 Innovation U.S.A. Award in Amsterdam.

Such a succession of accolades right out the gate might have turned some heads, but Parry has remained as cool and collected as her designs. Her clothes’ classic aesthetic with its complementary twist of whimsy could be worn by any of the great 60s style icons – I see Jean Seberg in every look – but Parry’s goal is always to “capture the individual style of real women.”

To create her Fall 2012 Leharia collection lookbook, Parry partnered with the Self-Portrait Project, a visual archive endeavor designed as a tool for social change by empowering people in the creation of their own images. Using a two-way mirror and a remote trigger – bloggers and trendsetters styled, modeled and shot their own looks to create an innovative homage to street style.
