Personalize your big day with a high-impact DIY garland made from coffee filters.

Hello!Lucky shows us how to take simple coffee filters and tie them onto kitchen string to make eye-catching garlands, a project from their bestselling book Handmade Weddings.

Dyed pale pink, these ethereal coffee filter pom-poms resemble cabbage roses, and they have a dramatic impact when hung in strands. Because of the dyeing and drying time, start this project early, working in batches — especially if you anticipate needing a large number of strands. perfect for weddings and showers, you can also hang them in your living room, over your dinner table, or in your cocktail area for instant DIY delight!

Eunice and Sabrina Moyle are sisters and co-founders of Hello!Lucky. Hello!Lucky is a design studio specializing in letterpress greeting cards, stationery, wedding invitations, and more. Eunice and Sabrina started Hello!Lucky in 2003 with a vintage Vandercook press in Eunice’s garage and now work out of a bustling studio with a team of 20 people including talented designers, printers, and sales staff. They have clients around the world and a small office in London. Sabrina is the business brains behind the company and Eunice is the creative director, but they’re both crafty and love making stuff with their hands whenever they can. Lately that usually revolves around parties and activities for their boys, they have three boys between the two of them with a fourth on the way.

They live and work in San Francisco and have been featured in various publications and lifestyle sites including Martha Stewart Weddings, Apartment Therapy, Design Sponge, and Real Simple. Clients include Kate’s Paperie, Paper Source, and Banana Republic.
